What Can't Go in My Dumpster?
You can toss a wide range of debris in our dumpster rentals, but there are certain materials the landfill doesn’t accept. Prohibited items include anything flammable, toxic or hazardous. The City of Detroit and local businesses offer safe disposal options for the waste we can’t accept.
Hazardous Household Waste Disposal
Hazardous items like paint, fluorescent lightbulbs and gasoline can’t go the landfill. These should go to the city’s household hazardous waste facility on Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. or every fourth Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Electronics Recycling
Electronics like computers, laptops and hard drives contain high levels of lead, which means it’s better to recycle them than send them to the landfill. Contact a local electronics recycler to properly process your e-waste.
Mayer Alloys Corporation 10711 Northend Avenue, Ferndale, MI 48220 | 888-671-3076
Tire Disposal
Tires are flammable and can be a breeding ground for mosquitoes and rodents. The Department of Environmental Quality recognizes the following two businesses as registered scrap tire collection sites. Take them to one of these facilities for proper disposal.
